Time files it is soon coming to an end of 2009.
Will take sometime to reflect what I have done.
I think I am not keeping in touch with quite a few of my friends. Sorry about that, hoping next year I would have more personal time and really spend less time on transportation daily which is a crazy daily chores.

I am looking forward to 2010 in fact.
I wish for health and happiness for all my family members and my friends.
Cheers!

It has been 2 years since i brought the bicycle for J. And last weekend we come to a conclusion to fix additional 2 little wheels to the bicycle. As I cannot stand him not learning how to cycle and each time we want to cycle far, we are stuck! He needs his daddy to assist and hold his bike.

This morning woke up and plan to go and install the little wheels. So that the whole family can go cycling together. Before leaving the house, I asked him to try again.. then I cycled off. Half-way through I U-turn back, guess what I saw him cycling towards me without his daddy. Wah.. what an achievement - milestone to note. Also save my $20 bucks. :P

So now with the saving, I go online and order 2 bicycles gel-seat so that the butt would not hurt so much for cycling long. :P

8 years ago this hour I am in the delivery suite trying to deliver my beloved son. And now here he is coming to 8 years old! I think I really aged alot with his each birthday celebration. Tonight going to spend $$ again on his celebration as he again requested for Japanese food. It makes me wonder if he is that attract to eat Japanese food or just fancy the sushi on the conveyor belt. Really abit boring just to see that sushi going round and round right? Anyway, that's his choice.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to You, my J!

Rejoice and pop the champagne, ye drivers who have less chances of survival doing parallel parking than striking the $3 million Toto jackpot.

If you're lousy at parallel parking, the National Public Radio (NPR) has a solution that'll turn you into the envy of all drivers, with a caveat.

All you'll ever need are a few pieces of information.

1. Your car's turning radius, r
2. The distance between the front and rear wheels, l
3. The distance from your front wheel to the corner of the front bumper, k
4. The width of the car you're trying to park behind, w

After that, it is just a matter of plugging the variables into NPR's geometric formula (see illustration below) and you'll know whether you can park in that tight spot.

According to NPR, the formula was developed by mathematician Simon Blackburn, professor at the University of London.

The most complicated part in the formula is the Pythagorean theorem - a squared plus b squared equals c squared - and you would have learnt that in secondary school.

The formula shows you the perfect parallel parking job - there will be no back-and-forth, no adjusting of your car.

Devlin said: "The formula tells you exactly how much extra space you need, beyond the length of your vehicle, in order to park it in a simple, reverse-in, straighten-the-wheels, switch-the-engine-off move."

What the formula actually does (and what it doesn't)

What Blackburn's formula does is to sketch the arc of your car's turning capability into a full circle. Then he used the centre of the circle to create a right-angled triangle.

But like all good things in this world, it comes with a caveat.

The formula cannot tell you how to do the parking. That's something you'll have to learn by practice - along with sustaining the cost of a few scratches. And that is how most people figure out whether they have enough parking space in the first place.

Behind all that guessing, Devlin told NPR, is mathematics.

"Mathematics gives you a way of understanding in detail what people have learned to do simply by practice and expertise," the professor was reported to say.

"In fact, when we practice something, be it on the athletic field or in an automobile, we are becoming very good mathematicians at doing a particular kind of operation," the professor said encouragingly.

"But usually we don't call it mathematics - and we certainly don't give people a pass on the maths test because they can park their car."

Whether you pass your maths or not, it's time to scribble down your car's vital stats and start parallel-parking. If you can park properly in the first place.

--------------------------
Err... think if i am to do calculation, I would need to measure the cars distance at the side also afterall other diver may or may not be parking within the white lines.
Anyway, I am to admit I am lousy at parrallel parking since the day I past the test until now I do not have any chance to do it. I would go for the 1st or the last lot theory. :P

Resolution #1: Get good skin
Resolution #2: Strengthen your heart
Resolution #4: Sleep well
Resolution #7: Lower your body fat
Resolution #8: Have gorgeous hair, minimise hair loss

Was told when you are into 30's one need to takecare of the face, else would looks old. So I need to start a routine as I am now going into mid-30's already.

Strengthen your heart - the need to exercise, I have lotsa of gadgets, but as usual do not know which one to starts with. Maybe I would just sign up a programme and force myself to attend.

Sleep well - If I am staying in the west, indeed I need to sleep early. So resolution to sleep early.

Lower your body fat - exercise, exercise my lower fats away! Else would forever looks pregnant when you are actually even not.

Have gorgeous hair, minimise hair loss - not sure if it is due to aging or what, I do notice that I seems to have some hair loss.

After all these years I have been owning a Desktop.. in fact I like it quite alot. However, for whatever reason this 1 year it really failed on me many times. Also when I am travelling to my in-law's place, at times I find myself no PC to use after work :( Now with the recent Singnet re-contract, my hubby got me a laptop. :) Yeah!
we collected on Sat and he had been configuring, backing up OS as well as installing my application. So here I am now typing the very first time on this laptop. Before my laptop arrived, my bro also got me a laptop bag. Not bad right? Now I am like spolit for choices. :)

Recived this from an email.. and this is extracted from solveyourproblem.com

Staying motivated isn't always easy no matter what you are trying to accomplish. Whatever it is that you are trying to get motivated to do, there are a few tips that can help. You can stay motivated to accomplish almost any goal.

# 1 Visualize and imagine your goals
- When you have the ability to see your goals and imagine what the end result will be, you are more likely to stay motivated.
- You may feel more motivated by a picture of what you are working towards or need a daily visual reminder.
- By keeping a visual picture in your mind and imagining yourself at your end result, you can stay motivated to accomplish any goal.

# 2 Reward and treat yourself
- Staying motivated can be easier if you take the time to reward and treat yourself when you reach small milestones along the way.
- Knowing that there is something good along the way to your goal will help keep you excited about achieving your goal and you will stay motivated.

# 3 Set small goals and take a break
- Whether you are working towards saving money for a new house or trying to eat healthy to lose a few pounds, set small goals for yourself and take a break every once in awhile.
- By setting small goals, you will not feel too overwhelmed at one time.
- You can work on each step that will equal to big results in the end. Also, if you do get overwhelmed, take a break.
- Achieving your goals will not happen overnight. If you feel frustrated, take a day off and rethink your plans.

# 4 Prove them wrong and impress others
- Everyone is motivated for different reasons, but one way to stay motivated is to remember all the times someone told you that you couldn’t do it.
- Prove the negative people around you wrong and accomplish your goals to show them you can.
- While you should never try to live your life for the approval of others, your motivation may improve when you try to impress others.
- Feel good about what you can do, and others will notice the hard work.

# 5 Do it because it is fun and you want to do it
- You may want to achieve a goal that you find very difficult. It may help to stay motivated by finding something fun about what you are doing.
- When you find intrinsic motivation, it will be easier to focus on your goals.

# 6 Compare and critique
- When you compare your goals to others and find what worked or did not work for them, you can stay motivated because you will find what will help you.
- Look at others around you and see the mistakes they may have made and try to keep yourself in line by not making the same mistakes.

----------------------------------
Afternote comment: Take a step back and look at myself, frankly i find these are all theories in book. Think most people look at $$ factor as a form of motivation and reward at the end of the day, if not for $$ sake and livinghood do you think one would bother to get up early out of the cosy bed and struggle himself to report work at 830am and take to stay awake towards to the end of the day? If not for $$, working mum would rather have more time for family as well.. enjoy breakfast with children, send children to school and play with them in the afternoon.
However, for point 4 to prove to others, my thinking is why bother what ours think of you. You should be living for your ownself and not others. Likewise for point 6 , to compare with others, we can learnt from others, but not to compare as most time after comparison you might get even demoralised to work on the things. Example, at times when people comment why so-and-so can stay in such a big house, driving big car where I am still cramp in a little nest - ask yourself, today you have at least a little nest to stay whereas some do not even have.. So do you still want to compare? Just be content and happy with whatever you have achieve, stretch abit more to do abit more for yourself and family, but do not sour the family relationship or in expense of family time.

This is the usual morning scene at the bus stop when I need to travel more the WEST to the NORTH to work in early morning when the whole house people are still asleep (at least those in my house :P ).

Rainy scene that I loved alot when I was young for I can laze around and sleep longer. This is no longer so when I start to work and have my son. But these days weather are so HOT especially on the weekends, I need to turn on the air-con and avoid getting out of the room often.

Just sharing the info....

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven a its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

1.. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water

2.. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute

3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4... After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours

5.. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6.. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/ reduce main diseases:

1.. High Blood Pressure - 30 days

2.. Gastric - 10 days

3.. Diabetes - 30 days

4.. Constipation - 10 days

5.. Cancer - 180 days

6.. TB - 90 days

7.. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life.

Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.

This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ...not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.

Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.
