Everyone Can Do Abit For Environment The Environment is by far one of the issues most of us take for granted. It's somwhat invisible, intangible and the vastness of it somehow puts people off as to where to start or how their little efforts can do any good. What most of us forget that by being Green/environmentally aware ourselves is only the beginning; we often overlook the need to influence and affect people around us to be aware and lead environmentally mindful lifestyles. We are not asking everyone to go around hugging trees or orgainsing a protest against hunting endangered species, the list below is a good start which we think everyone can do...

15 Things You Can Do To Save the Environment
Reduce your driving (walk, bike, ride, take public transport, carpool).

Choose a more fuel efficient car.

Don't leave your TV, computers, DVD/VCD players on standby; it uses more electricity than the little red LED light!

Choose more energy-efficient appliances, especially major ones like refrigerators, aircons and water heaters.

Recycle everything you can: newspapers, cans, glass bottles and jars, aluminum foil, motor oil, scrap metal, etc.

Don't use electrical appliances for things you can easily do by hand, such as opening cans.

Plug off your Handphone charger when charging is completed.

Re-use bread bags and the bags you bring your produce home in.

Store food in re-usable containers, instead of plastic wrap or aluminum foil.

Take unwanted, re-usable items to a charitable organization or thrift shop.

Don't leave water running needlessly.

Save some of your washing machine water.

Gargle your mouth with a cup of water instead.

Set your aircon temperature to 24-26C instead of below 23C.

Turn off the lights, TV, or other electrical appliances when you are out of a room.
Fill a 1.5/2L drink plastic bottle and leave it inside the WC; this will save you that same amount every time you flush the toilet.

Do not use the water heater on a hot afternoon! Use cold water in the washer whenever possible.

Print or copy on both sides of the paper.

But hor, I find my face and my shoulder should be thinner. Guess needs to look into these 2 areas + the "tyre" issue.

Guess maybe I should use the dream money to go for GYM course...wonder can or not. :P

Last night after dinner this is what I saw:

Can you guess where are the lightings? It is in the west part of Singapore.

Also last night the moon was so round that I can't help taking a photo of it.

Now I know what my plant name exactly liao..the BIG one is known as N. ventricosa... think I shall name it Ventri

Also learnt last night that it needs strong light, but no no to strong sun, good drainage and no fertilizer required.

Now need to search for a good place to groom it :)

Hey, this is what I asked my hubby to get for me for this season.

Medium size pitcher flower about 8cm long.

This one have mini pitcher. Wonder when it will bloom.

Cute right? Hoping these pitcher plants will helps me to eat those insects. :P So that no more insects will attack my plants.

More Info about Pitcher Plants:

The Nepenthes plant, commonly known as the tropical pitcher plant also captures its prey by means of the pitfall method. Nepenthes are strikingly different in appearance than the other passive varieties of Carnivorous Plants. Pitchers are located growing from the ends of some leaves by what could appear to be an umbilical cord, called a tendril. Nepenthes pitchers also contain water and digestive enzymes like the Sarracenia and Darlingtonia. The prey is attracted to the pitcher in much the same manner, by color and odor. Downward pointing hairs inside the pitcher also make it very difficult for the visitor to escape. Some species of Nepenthes can grow pitchers large enough to capture small animals such as frogs, etc. For instance, the pitcher of the N. rajah can grow to be as large as a rugby football!

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town.

He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town.

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake.

With little tin horns and little toy drums
Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town.

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

(Coming to town)
Santa's a busy man he has no time to play
He's got millions of stockings to fill on Christmas day

Maybe you can find some of his "naughty" creation on my christmas tree.
Also if you are keen, maybe you can try to spot your presents placed under the tree.

Oh yes, on Saturday we went to the ZOO. As usual didn't stay long enough to make our parking worth :P Was there for about 2 hours only. But I managed to see some animals which in the few past visit i do not see...like the Sunny Bear. We happened to be there on time to see it feeding. It seems that the bear can't really see well as it was sniffing for it's food. Also we were lucky to be able to visit the Animal Hospital in the zoo...was some of the aborted animals foetus..a bit gross.

My stomach was so full with food last evening. My son ordered steamboat for dinner and my in-laws really go all out to prepared it. Think they had prepared a fest for 8-9. After that watched the "Star Award", a lousy show i should say. :P

Had the opportunity to go to Batam via my company Annual Function.
Batam is like Singapore in the 60s and 70s.... alots of kampong.
Shopping is indeed rather cheap there, but nothing much to do except sea sports and massage. 1st time having a full body massage and i paid S$36 for 1 hour. Quite cheap huh?

Here are some of the shots taken.

Enjoy
